About this vintage design furniture
A rare table lamp designed by Aldo van de Nieuwelaar and made in the Netherlands in the 1970s. This eye-catching piece is part of a limited production that Van den Nieuwelaar designed for the Dutch ABN banks. It is made of high quality white and transparent plexiglass, which diffuses and spreads the light beautifully when it is switched on. The slim metal arm of the piece can be seen through the transparent part, which adds a very attractive extra dimension to the lamp. Its unique and modern design has earned this piece museum status, as it is in the collection of several Dutch museums as well as MoMA in New York. It remains in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful vintage patina.
