Luxurious T102 extra large table. Osvaldo Borsani and Eugenio Gerli for Tecno, T102 conference or dining table, teak and steel, Italy, 1964. Oval dining table with Carrara marble top and steel base. The characteristic feature of this table is its base, which consists of four C-shaped legs. These half circles together form a steel structure. Together, these half circles form an interesting cross that has a biomorphic entity. It contrasts with a shiny polished metal exterior and a black enamelled interior. The oval top features an extraordinary piece of Carrara marble in a beautiful white color. Tecno was founded in 1953 by Osvaldo and Fulgenzio Borsani. The central thought on which the company is based is the idea that homes function as the foundation on which quality of life is built. Although Tecno has been led by functionalism, aesthetics has never ceased to be important. Technique is the tool that has given rise to typological innovation. As can be seen in the last image, there are areas where, due to the extraordinary size of the piece, it has been perfected in the same factory to complete the small missing areas that allow such a large extension. This technique is executed to perfection and does not detract from the beauty of the piece, but rather makes each piece unique.
