Pair of vintage DCW dining chairs by Charles & Ray Eames, 1950s
About this vintage design furniture
The DCW chair was originally released in 1946, with Herman Miller taking over the manufacture of the chairs in 1950. This lasted until 1953 when the chairs were taken out of production until 1994. These chairs are 2nd generation (1st generation Herman Miller) as identified by the 5-2-4 screw pattern on the base and the rounded alu feet. Since its original inception the DCW has become one of the most iconic chair designs of the 20th century. The plywood chairs feature a distinctive silhouette, with a curved seat and lower legs at the back. These chairs are the perfect way to introduce a design classic into a contemporary home. Classic and timeless, these chairs will make a fantastic addition to a dining room or kitchen table.
