Charles Hollis Jones

Jones began creating furniture and sculpture at the age of 13. After studying art at the University of Los Angeles, he began working as a freelance designer. He quickly gained a reputation for his bold, avant-garde designs, using materials such as acrylic and Plexiglas to create one-of-a-kind furniture pieces.

In the 1960s, Jones became famous for his transparent acrylic furniture designs, which were shown in the most prestigious art galleries in New York and Los Angeles. He also worked with celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Diana Ross, creating custom furniture for their homes.

Over the years, Jones extended his work to lighting, creating lamps and fixtures in acrylic and brass. His work can now be found in the permanent collections of many museums, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Today, Charles Hollis Jones continues to work in his Los Angeles studio, creating unique works of art for clients around the world.
