About this vintage design furniture
Emblematic piece of GDR design. Garden Egg or "Senftenberger Ei" by Peter Ghyczy, 1968 for Elstogran GmbH, Germany, for outdoor use. The chair has a hinged lid that allows the chair to be opened when in use and closed to protect it from rain, etc. Perfect for your poolside. The chair is made of polyurethane and still has its original fabric and paint. The date of manufacture "72" is written on the bottom. The production was stopped in 1975. Measures: Open height 98cm. Small paint chips. Pressure mark on the lid. Please see the pictures.

Peter GHYCZY
Peter Ghyczy is a Dutch designer born in 1940 in Budapest, Hungary. After studying architecture at Munich University of Technology, he moved to Stuttgart, where he worked as an industrial designer for various companies.
