About this vintage design furniture

ROGER CAPRON Ceramic of museum quality as much for its history as for its artistic beauty. Rare piece from the CALLIS workshop. In 1946, Roger Capron opened his workshop in Vallauris. He is joined very quickly by his friends from the School of Applied Arts: Robert Picault and Jean Derval. When they arrived in Vallauris, they discovered the traditional production of this Mediterranean village, and launched their production by modernizing these forms: for example pitchers, tobacco boxes, and shaped pieces. Very quickly, Jean Derval left them to work for a while at Madoura when Picasso moved there. The Callis workshop closed in 1948, when Roger Capron opened his own workshop. In perfect original condition, no missing pieces, no restoration. Sumptuous black bowl with free form scarified decoration. Its height is 7 to 4.5 cm.
