About this vintage design furniture

A beautiful pair of mid-century Danish Brutalist wall sconces, designed in the 1960s by designer Svend Aage Holm Sørensen for Holm Sørensen & Co AS. These brass sconces have an acid-coated, torch-cut look in a brutalist design. They give a beautiful magical glow when lit. Marked by Holm Sørensen & Co AS. Made in Denmark. Nr 5201. Size: 31 cmD x 9 cmW. Svend Aage Holm Sørensen is a Scandinavian designer who, although Danish, is more Mediterranean in his expressions. Holm Sørensen's lamps have a typically retro expression circa 1950s-60s, and the lamps in the US, Italy and France were slightly more sculpted, outrageous or funny and not as fine and serene as Arne Jacobsens' lamps. Good vintage condition.
