About this vintage design furniture

Full size black AJ Royal pendant in light. This was sold as matte black but in my opinion it’s very dark grey. Over all it is in good shape and has no dents or bends. It has some minor damage to the laquer at the very top of the shade as seen in the last image. This light has 4 original porcelain lamp sockets in good working condition. Three of the bulbs give a shine upwards through the lamells on the overside of the shade. The fourth bulb gives a good spread of light downwards. The AJ Pendant was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1957, as a part of his total design of the SAS Royal Hotel (1956-1961) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Royal Hotel project also included several design icons like the EGG and SWAN chairs as well as the AJ table and floor lamps. This is the largest version of the pendant with a diameter of 50 cm. Height 25 cm. Standard E27 light bulbs.
