About this vintage design furniture
A pair of tulip chairs on a fixed base with black leather cushions designed by Eero Saarinen in 1957 for Knoll International. The tulip chairs are a part of a Pedestal collection which was created to eliminate the ‘slum of legs’ found under chairs and tables with four legs. Tulip chairs consist of two parts: a seat of cast fiberglass reinforced with a layer of plastic and a base of powder coated cast aluminium. This particular set of chairs were made in Italy in the 1990s and remains in a very good original condition showing light traces of use as presented in pictures.
