About this vintage design furniture
Description: This unusual high sideboard was designed by Victor Wilkins and produced by the British furniture manufacturing company G-Plan in the mid-20th century. G Plan - E. Gomme Ltd was based in High Wycombe, England, a major British furniture manufacturing centre. The company was revered for its range of high quality sideboards, tables and other cabinetry and for pioneering the creation of bespoke designed and made furniture sets. This piece of furniture, part of G Plans' popular "Scandi" range, features a fold-down drinks cabinet, a hidden drawer and an open-front shelf. Below this is a spacious double cupboard and three drawers. The cabinet features a beautiful rich teak grain, warm tones and rich colors. Item Number: Condition: We have carefully cleaned and repolished this set to preserve its original natural appearance. We try to render the condition of our items in our photographs as best we can. Before shipping, all items are carefully cleaned and re-coated with Danish oil to ensure that your item looks its best upon delivery. This item is in very good condition and has no defects. Victor B. WILKINS
Charles Victor Wilkins (1893-1969) was an American industrial designer known for his work in the 1920s and 1930s. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and studied at the Art Students League of New York and the New York School of Fine and Applied Art.
