Set of 4 chairs and vintage garden table from Patio restored by Mathieu Matégot 1950s

Beautiful set of mid-century wrought iron patio furniture including a beautifully designed table with a perforated plate top and four side "heart" chairs (including two armchairs), all of which have features reminiscent of those designed by the famous designer Mathieu Matégot, circa 1950s. This set has been fully and professionally restored, with a three-step process: the first step, using a low-pressure sandblasting process, followed by a second process of "metallization", a technique in which it has been treated, "anti-corrosion", a durable protective coating of zinc and aluminum, to protect the integrity and prevent the set from future accelerated aging for decades, due to exposure to external elements. Finally, the third step, where it was painted with a powder coating process where all five pieces were baked in an oven at approximately 200 degrees Celsius, to provide additional protection against rust. It is this fantastic three step process that will make the maintenance of this set simple and stress free. Because this set has been fully restored, it is in excellent condition, with tiny traces of age and use, commensurate with the time. There are two very small "areas" of age and use on the perforated design of the table top, (please see photos next to a penny for perspective) and two, tiny, dot-like age and use marks on the edge of only one of the chairs, (please see photos next to a penny for perspective.) None of these affect the beauty, nor the functionality of the table or chairs. The table is gorgeous, stable and sturdy, as are the romantic and whimsical chairs, which are also comfortable. A fantastic piece of design history that continues to appeal to lovers of this era, which can be used and enjoyed both indoors and outdoors for years to come.
