About this vintage design furniture

A very special handmade Bitossi vase, Design by Aldo Londi Italy 1960 Aldo London Aldo Londi (Montelupo Fiorentino, 1911-2003) was a tireless narrator of feelings and insights. A whole life dedicated to art: he was a painter, sculptor and above all a ceramist. In 1946, Londi began his collaboration with the manufacturer Cav. G. Bitossi & Figli. A successful business in which Londi has been the protagonist for more than fifty years, first as artistic director from 1946 to 1976, then as a tireless collaborator. In his works, Londi combines traditional and contemporary art to create a modern product... His natural attitude towards research has enabled him to take up the challenge of bold explorations and define a new language of expression, finding support and motivation in the endless experiments he has launched in the chemical laboratory of the Colorobbia enamel factory. On the other hand, his professional skills and artistic sensitivity have been the extraordinary framework for numerous collaborations with designers and artists such as Ettore Sottsass, Remo Buti, Marco Zanini, Matteo Thun and many others.
