About this vintage design furniture
Marcel Breuer Mid-Century Modern dining chairs; Chrome metal and rattan armchair by Marcel Breuer for Thonet. Marcel Lajos Breuer (21 May 1902-1 July 1981), was a Hungarian-born modernist architect and furniture designer. At the Bauhaus, he designed the Wassily chair and the Cesca chair, which is "among the 10 most important chairs of the 20th century". Breuer extended the vocabulary of sculpture he had developed in the Bauhaus carpentry workshop into a personal architecture that made him one of the world's most popular architects at the height of 20th-century design. His work includes art museums, libraries, university buildings, office buildings and residences. Many of these are Brutalist in style, including the former IBM Research and Development Center, where the first personal computer was born. Price per pair
