About this vintage design furniture
Pair of mid-century, vintage wall sconces made of brass and opaline (milk glass) (Selling as a pair only. Not selling each one individually.) Each sconce is in very good, original vintage condition. They have been tested and function. There are no cracks or chips on the glass. The electrical wires are also in good condition and were checked for functionality, before being purchased. The fantastic, streamlined design of the brass components, combined with the opaline glass shaped like a rocket, evokes a space-age effect, typical of this period. Each sconce’s base support is brass, as are the J-shaped branches that finish with a round-tipped point and the wall mounts themselves, behind which are the hooksbrackets, to make mounting onto a wall, that much more convenient. They both have a superb patina of time, with some light traces of age and marks of usage on the brass, commensurate with time. Each sconce has a small socket, that works with screw-in, E27 type, flame-shaped bulbs. Functions up to 250 volts. On each base, there are two, small, flexible metal clips that one has to pinch first, before placing inside the glass shades, that then open and hold the shades in place.
