About this vintage design furniture

Sommerso glass vase designed by Flavio Poli for Alessandro Mandruzzato (Murano, Italy, 1960s). Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s and very popular in the 1950s and 1960s. The result is a glass with contrasting colors that is usually wrapped in a transparent layer. Beautifully coloured faceted glass. Colours: dark purple, yellow and transparent. Height 15 cm; depth - 5 cm (at base); width - 4.5 cm (at base). Excellent vintage condition.

Flavio POLI

Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was a renowned Italian designer, known for his work in glass. Born in Chioggia, near Venice, Poli studied at the Institute of Applied Arts in Venice, where he developed a passion for blown glass.
