About this vintage design furniture
Iconic chair of the 20th century This chair is made of bent chrome tubes, a seat and a back in bent plywood. Original design by Mart Stam for the Thonet company. In Czechoslovakia, the chairs were manufactured by the company Kovona. Very good condition of the chrome. The seat and backrest have used a darker shade of wood. This actually creates a very nice vintage pattern on the wood. Chrome parts in excellent condition. A great industrial design with a comfortable seat due to the tube construction that allows some spring in the seat. Yet it is strong enough to hold someone. Great chair. Seat height 43cm.
