About this vintage design furniture
LAR armchair in fiberglass designed by Charles & Ray Eames in the 1950s and manufactured at Herman Miller (Vitra) in the 1970s. Vitra obtained a license from Herman Miller in 1957 and then began producing Charles & Ray Eames' designs. LAR stands for Lounge Height Armchair Rod Base or LAR Low Armchair Rod Base. The frame is also called "cat's cradle base". The seat is made of fiberglass (color: light ochre) and has a nice visible structure. The condition is still good with some signs of use and wear; a small crack at the top of the backrest, without consequence for the construction (see pictures). Dimensions: h x w x d 64,5 x 65 x 63 cm, seat height 31 cm. Marked: with V (on the seat) from Vitra and M (on the rubber) from Herman Miller (see pictures).
