Vintage large antique brown leather sofa England 1920s

This three-seater Chesterfield leather sofa was made in England in the 1920s. It is one of the most recognizable pieces of furniture in the world. The frame of the sofa is made of solid wood and upholstered with natural leather in various shades of brown. It is filled with bird feathers and horse hair with a loop to keep everything in one place. Deeply recessed buttons, which are permanently integrated into the characteristic quilted sofa, and spiral springs enhance comfort during use and relaxation. The sofa has three ample, thick and comfortable seat cushions. This sofa is strongly associated with luxury and quality. As it became more popular, the Chesterfield sofa found its way into the homes of many wealthy families, where the trend was for sofas upholstered in luxurious velvet or leather to match the elegant décor around them. Sofas also became the equipment of many London gentlemen's clubs, such as White's founded in 1693 and the Carlton Club founded in 1832.
