Vintage Ceiling Globe Lamp by Venini, Italy 1960s
About this vintage design furniture
Here is a breathtaking veiling lamp realised in the early 60s by the luxurious glass company Venini (Murano) in the late 60s. The structure is made of precious chromed brass and it shows the original shape of auctioned Venini’s lamp. The glass sphere is realised according to the "filigrana" technique. This mouth-blown method is one of the most elegant decorative style developed by Venini’s glass masters known in English as "filigree glass". This imposing glass (40 cm 15.8 inch diameter) was carried out using transparent glass rods containing straight white glass threads inside, creating the effect of a delicate lace inside the glass wall. You can feel the superb craftsmanship even by touching this precious glass. Really elegant effect once lighted up. The height of this piece it’s made to be easily adjusted according to your own needs. This model is part of the series "Tessuti" by Venini. The lamp comes in perfect conditions, just few natural signs of the time passed on the structure. A exquisite example of Mid-century Italian craftsmanship for your special environment
