About this vintage design furniture
Bořek Šípek is said to be the father of the “neo-baroque”. His architectural works and other designs are known worldwide. He had offices in Amsterdam, Prague and Shanghai. Under the presidency of Václav Havel, he was the architect of Prague Castle. In Maastricht he designed a glass sculpture at the entrance of the Maastricht University Library on Grote Looiersstraat. Bořek Šípek passed away at 66 years. This prorok chair shows the element of what is called neo-baroque. Rich decorated with beautiful curls and figure the wicker chair got three accent colors in excellent condition. A real beautiful and timeless object of furniture art, with a practical touch… the chair can be used as a chair.

About the designer
Borek SIPEK
Borek Sipek (1949-2016) was an internationally renowned Czech designer, known for his furniture, glassware, lighting and decorative objects. He studied architecture in Prague before working with the famous Italian designer Ettore Sottsass in Milan in the 1980s.
