About this vintage design furniture

The armchair designed in 2001 by Carl Öjerstam for Ikea is already a classic design. Between 2001 and 2005 the chaise longue had limited production. Storvik is a project that evokes emotions due to its biomorphic form, which will remain in the memory of its users for a long time. The armchair looks light and natural. It is stable and wide, and thus very comfortable. Its construction was created on a bamboo frame. This one, in turn, is surrounded by natural rattan material. Despite its size, it is surprisingly light and delicate at the same time. Carl Öjerstam, MFA industrial designer, graduated from the School of Art and Design in Konstfack, Stockholm. Since then he has been teaching design and working as an independent designer in Sweden and abroad. Carl has received many awards and distinctions. Three of his products have been awarded the international Red Dot Design Award - one of them is Storvik. The armchair has been preserved in almost perfect condition, which is a rarity. It is one of the author’s most famous projects, today quite unique and sought after, auctioned in the largest auction houses abroad.
