About this vintage design furniture
The sophisticated square box with flap comes from the famous German factory WMF (Württembergische Metallwaren fabrik) from the Ikora collection. Brass silver plated geometrical shape, the interior is lined with cedar boards. The IKORA label was used by WMF as a trade name for a wide range of glass and metal products. The technology was developed in the 1920s according to the Japanese WMF model under the direction of Hugo Debach, a collector and Asian art enthusiast. Later on, it was protected as a trademark. Icora is the surface treatment of metal and glass. Originally, the object was used as a cigarette case. Ideal for storing keys or small items and a beautiful addition to the collection of every Art Deco lover. This piece is marked on the bottom. Preserved in its original state of preservation. Traces of patina and small scribbles can be spotted. Darker spots are visible due to oxidation of silver plated surfaces.
