About this vintage design furniture

Spectacular stoneware tall table lamp with ceramic glaze in various shades of brown. The base of the lamp features various graphic patterns. Handmade in Denmark by Søholm. Very rare piece. Rewired for European use. New shade. The origin of Søholm or Søholm Stentøj (Soholm sandstone) dates back to the first half of the 17th century and to the Danish island of Bornholm, famous for its pottery and fine ceramics. Søholm was founded in 1835, in Rønne, Bornholm, by Herman Sonne Wolffsen (1811-1887) and Edvard Christian Sonne, making it one of the oldest ceramic factories on Bornholm, until its closure in 1996.The name, Søholm, comes from the factory where the two founders were employed, an earthenware factory near Copenhagen, in 1828-1839 (rented in 1834).In the middle of the 20th century, Søholm produced a wide range of stoneware in various patterns and shapes. At the same time, the Danish ceramic artist Einar Johansen was employed by Søholm. He designed and created a wide range of stoneware, of which his "blue series" is highly sought after by collectors today.
