About this vintage design furniture
Rare Frits Schlegel steel tube armchair (attributed to) produced by Fritz Hansen in the style of Bauhaus. The chair is in original green wool upholstery which is in very good condition with light signs of use, the armrests are in good condition with very light signs of use. The chair is from the 1930’s, Frits Schlegel was one of the big pioneers of modernism in Denmark in the 1930’s together with architects like Kaj Gottlob, Vilhelm Lauritzen, Magnus Stephensen and Arne Jacobsen.

About the designer
Frits SCHLEGEL
Frits Schlegel (1896-1965) was a Danish designer known for his work in the 1930s and 1940s, which contributed to the creation of the Danish modern style. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked in the studio of Kaare Klint, one of the most famous Danish designers of the time. Schlegel then set up his own workshop in 1926 and began producing furniture in collaboration with other leading designers.
