About this vintage design furniture
A rare opportunity to buy a pair of Leonardo Desks designed by Achille Castiglioni for Zanotta, Italy. Reversable wooden top with white melamine on both sides, the easel base is of solid beech with pegged mortise and tenon joints. The trestles are height adjustable, allowing the top to be set at five different heights in increments of 6.5cm, from a seated position to a standing position, and secured by turned wooden pegs to each side. Originally designed in 1969, these have been together since new and were sourced from a graphic design studio in London, following the owner’s retirement. They can also be placed together to make a square conference table, or end to end to create a long dining table. Considering their age, they’ve been well looked after, with good patina to the feet as you’d expect from a period piece, a little sun fading to the beech frame and a few chips to the melamine around the perimeter. Table heights: 65cm position 1, 71.5cm position 2, 78cm position 3, 84.5cm position 4, 91cm position 5 (6.5cm increments).
