Ole WANSCHER

Wanscher's designs are renowned for their high quality and elegance. He was behind such design icons as the "Egyptian" stool (1960s), the "Cado" lounge (1960s) and the "Colonial" armchair (1960s). Wanscher's pieces were mainly published by Fritz Hansen and P. Jeppesen. Biography Ole Wanscher was born in Denmark in 1903. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy Of Fine Arts, where he met Kaare Klint, then a teacher. After graduating, he joined Klint's studio and worked for him for almost 3 years. He went on to create various furniture collections under his own name, and collaborated with master cabinetmaker AJ Iversen on several designs. His aim was to produce pieces accessible to all.
