About this vintage design furniture
A teak desk designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard-Nielsen for Soborg Mobelfabrik, circa 1960s made in Denmark to a Scandinavian design. The desk has six drawers with small removable organisation trays, two of the trays slide out entirely. The desk has an attractive design feature that includes storage space on each side of the unit’s return. Finished in teak, the desk sits on sturdy metal legs, and each leg finished with teak trim. Peter Hvidt trained as an architect and cabinet maker in Copenhagen. Hvidt designed in partnership with architect and furniture designer Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. The two worked together for 31 years, creating pieces for renowned Danish manufacturers like Fritz Hansen, France & Son, and Søborg Møbelfabrik. The partners used a modern Scandinavian design style and worked to construct their designs in solid wood, including classics like their storage units, desks, and tables that are still highly sought after today. Very good condition - This vintage item has no defects, normal usage marks are apparent. One shelf missing to the rear storage spaces.
