About this vintage design furniture

Beautiful Doublet sofa bed designed by the Dutch designer Rob Parry and produced by Gelderland in 1958. This rare sofa with its elegant teak frame has been reupholstered in a beautiful 100 wool felt melange upholstery fabric from Kirkby design. Of course, the old suspension has been replaced and the foam has also been renewed. With one hand movement you can pull the seat forward so that it lies flat and you can use the sofa as a single sofa bed. Comparable to the sleeping sofas designed by Martin Visser from the era. The wooden frame is in a good and solid condition, at the back there are a few larger user marks in the wood (see detailed photos), which is probably caused by the fact the sofa was placed against a wall there. It is also not surprising that there are some signs of wear on a piece of furniture that is more than 60 years old. You often see this model with wooden armrests, this example has original upholstered armrests which gives the sofa just a little more comfort. Dimensions: 215 cm wide, 79 cm deep and 70 cm high.
