About this vintage design furniture
Antique Dining Chair from Thonet - 1910 The invention of Michael Thonet has been present in our homes for almost 160 years. Einstein and Picasso sat on it, and among many fans of the furniture they also expanded to the guru of modernism, Le Corbusier. "You’ve never created a more elegant pattern before, an object just as carefully made and practical," he said enthusiastically. "Number 14 was a pioneering project implementing development assumptions. The first models made in the villages of Koryčanyn (today the Czech Republic) from beech wood growing in nearby forests. When demand increased and the need to re-educate the raw material, Thonet was completed with coal coverage, developed."
