Murano glass vase "Sommerso" by Flavio Poli for Alessandro Mandruzzato (Murano) - Italy, 1960s. The "Sommerso" is a technique developed in Murano in the 30's and which was very popular in the 50's and 60's. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is usually covered with a transparent layer. Dimensions: height: 14 cm; width: 4.5 cm; depth: 4.5 cm. Very good original condition. Two small candies illustrated on the pictures.

Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was a renowned Italian designer, known for his work in glass. Born in Chioggia, near Venice, Poli studied at the Institute of Applied Arts in Venice, where he developed a passion for blown glass.
