Nils Thorsson for Copenhagen Alumina Faience, Baca glass vase with abstract design, circa 1960s Beautiful piece of high-level Danish craftsmanship, signed and numbered Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) first appeared as an artist when he exhibited a series of vases in 1925, (the Autumn Series) which were awarded a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition. From 1930 he became artistic director of the Aluminia factory and from 1949 he had artistic supervision of the stoneware department of the Royal Porcelain Factory in Copenhagen. Thorsson's work is represented in the Copenhagen Museum of Fine Arts, the Royal Institute of Technology, the Museum of the Porcelain Factory, the Victoria

Nils THORSSON
Nils Thorsson (1898-1975) was a Danish designer, known for his work in the ceramics industry. He worked for the Royal Copenhagen company for over 60 years, where he designed numerous models of ceramic tableware and figurines.
