About this vintage design furniture
Pair of rare easychairs by the danish architect Frits Schlegel and manufactured by Fritz Hansen in the 1940’s. The chairs are made in beechwood with sea grass on the seat and the back rest. The chairs have signs of use that have come over the years. Frits Schlegel is one of the pioneers of modernism in Denmark together with architects like Kaj Gottlob, Vilhelm Lauritzen and Kay Fisker.

About the designer
Frits SCHLEGEL
Frits Schlegel (1896-1965) was a Danish designer known for his work in the 1930s and 1940s, which contributed to the creation of the Danish modern style. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked in the studio of Kaare Klint, one of the most famous Danish designers of the time. Schlegel then set up his own workshop in 1926 and began producing furniture in collaboration with other leading designers.
