About this vintage design furniture
The LC2 sofas as well as the armchair are part of the avant-garde furniture of the Bauhaus period that Le Corbusier designed with the designer Charlotte Perriand and her cousin Pierre Jeanneret for the 1927 Paris Salon. The LC2 2-seater sofa consists of box-shaped cushions held in shape by a tubular steel frame. The sides are square, the seat and backrest are rectangular, resulting in a cube. The frame of this classic consists of a chrome-plated tubular steel frame with elaborate curves. The leather cushions are filled with polyurethane foam and dacron wadding. The seat of the LC2 was also filled with down feathers for optimum comfort. The serial number and type number can be found under the left bar (see photo), the Cassina sticker has unfortunately disappeared over time.
