About this vintage design furniture
Enamelled metal umbrella stand with brass edges, produced by the S.I.V.A. of Poggibonsi at the turn of the 50s and early 60s. The S.I.V.A., a factory of art enamels on steel, was founded in 1953 by the painter and sculptor Giuseppe Calonaci, with the aim of spreading art in society through the creation of furnishing accessories. He worked with many contemporary artists, including Silvano Bozzolini, Pirro Cuniberti, Gualtiero Nativi, Marta Pieraccini, Concetto Pozzati, Giovanni Korompay, and many others. In very good condition, perfect enamelling, patinated brass edges, can be polished on customer request. A bump on the lower edge.
