Piet HEIN & Bruno MATHSSON

Bruno Mathsson began his career in the family business in 1929, where he designed several pieces of furniture. In 1931, he set up his own design studio in Värnamo, Sweden, where he began producing his own furniture.

Over the years, Bruno Mathsson has created many iconic pieces of furniture, including the "Eva" chair, the "Pernilla" chair and the "Jetson" chair. He also designed interiors for public buildings and private homes.

In 1941, Bruno Mathsson formed a partnership with entrepreneur and designer Karl-Erik Ekselius, creating the company Mathsson-Ekselius AB. Later, in 1957, Karl Mathsson joined the company, and the firm was renamed Hein & Mathsson. Together, the three designers continued to produce functional and elegant furniture, using materials such as wood, leather and metal.

After Bruno Mathsson's death in 1988, the company continued to produce furniture under the name Bruno Mathsson International, using original designs by Bruno Mathsson as well as creations by contemporary designers. Today, Bruno Mathsson's furniture is considered an icon of Scandinavian design and is highly prized by collectors and design enthusiasts.
