In 1945, he moved from Saint-Etienne to go to Paris. He met Jean Cocteau and Christian Berard during his work with Jeanne Paquin. In 1946, he was only 24 years old when he became the first tailor for Dior. His audacious creations seduced the fashion sphere in the entire world. He is the first fashion designer who popularized fashion by designing a prêt-à-porter line. Passionate about design, he created during the 70s functional and original pieces of furniture.
