About this vintage design furniture

Comfortable and great piece of Dutch heritage. A slender teak and metal lounge chair, model Lotus, designed by Industrial designer Rob Parry, during the 1960s for Gelderland (the Netherlands). The chair is executed in solid teak and has a slender rectangular chromed metal frame. Floating teak armrests and comfortable flat springs underneath the new cushions. The cushions are executed in a light grey, high quality wool (Ploegwool by De Ploeg). Seat height is 36-38 cm. Parry was an Industrial designer ’avant la lettre’, and his career and body of work, mostly resemblance and shows many parallels with the career of German designer Dieter Rams. Parry’s oeuvre, as did Rams, also extends from furniture to electrical devices, to exhibition designs, to the now iconic red Dutch letterboxes in public spaces.
