About this vintage design furniture
The ceramic, handcrafted coffee or tea set designed by Siegfried Gramann was produced in the mid-20th century by the East German company Gramann (Topferei Römhild). Stoneware service covered with paintings and glazed, designed for 6 people. A beautiful example of German design in the mid-century modern style. The service is in a very good condition, the damage to the teapot lid is visible in the photos. Historical note: Gramann, also known as Töpferei Römhild, was an East German company, a company with a lineage from southern Thuringia. In the 1970s, Römhild became the capital of ganery. The largest pottery company in Europe (Töpferhof Gramann) was opened and international pottery symposiums were held since 1975, the tradition of which was renewed in 2008. Most of the work was done by hand. Gramann was the precursor of volcanic glazes, later known as fat lava.
