About this vintage design furniture
This robust and a bit brutalist lounge chair was designed in the 1960s by Dutch cabinetmaker Ate van Apeldoorn. The listed chair, which he called ’stokkenstoel’ (stick chair), has an ingenious construction and a high degree of finishing.The frame is executed in solid pine, ash and two saddle leather slings. Seat height 34cm.

About the designer
Ate VAN APELDOORN
Ate van Apeldoorn was a Dutch furniture designer and manufacturer, born in 1932 and died in 2007. He studied at the Arnhem Academy of Fine Arts and began his career working for the architectural firm Van den Broek & Bakema.
