About this vintage design furniture
This floor shelving unit was designed by Kajsa & Nisse Strinning and manufactured by String in Sweden during the 1960s. String Furniture shelving systems are practical, and their structure is light and stable at the same time. The made of aluminum frame is easy to install. The teak shelves are vary in depth. They can be easily transported and the frame acts as a support. The advantage of this model is the possibility of independent arrangement due to the legs, not attached to the wall as in other models from this collection. An additional reinforcement of the rack is an x-shaped structure of thin, metal cables oh the back. This wire construction and three transversal tubes, stabilize the frame well. Since its inception, String has received a number of prestigious international awards. Their distinctive features - functionality, minimalist design, attention to detail - are String shelving systems that became favorites shortly after their introduction to the market, and this minimalist icon is as modern and attractive today as it was then - timeless design, yet classic time and contemporary. String Furniture, founded by architect and designer Nils Strinning, is a Swedish design company specialized in home storage. Strinning designed the classic String system as early as 1949, and later additions include the String Plex and String Pocket shelving systems and the String Works office collection. This piece is in original vintage condition with normal age marks. It has minor scratches and scrapes.
