About this vintage design furniture
R &Y Augousti was founded in 1989 by the husband-wife duo Ria and Yiouri Augousti. Their artistic backgrounds have brought them together as innovators in their field by reviving the artisanal techniques of shagreen and other exotic materials that were predominant during the Art Deco era in the 1930s. With their blend of vintage and contemporary design, their brand of furniture and home accessories has gained worldwide acclaim. From an initial collection for the luxurious Crillon Hotel in Paris, to exclusive collections for luxury stores such as Barneys New York & Bergdorf Goodman, they eventually opened their flagship store in the famous Rue Du Bac in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, France. From there, they began working closely with interior designers, architects and world-renowned celebrities to create custom pieces for their homes and projects, while respecting the Augousti universe. Although shagreen is their DNA signature, the Augousti R&Ys are known as the pioneers in blending patterns of exotic shagreen materials, shells, parchment, eel skin, semi-precious stones, snake skin and metal. Their astonishing patterns are recognizable by their worldwide clientele. This unique snakeskin vase is also highly sought after and shows the breadth of the design environment in which Augousti works.
