About this vintage design furniture
Very rare elliptical shaped coffee table by French designer Michel Kin for Arflex, Italy, dating from the early 1960s. The top is made of Italian travertine in an elliptical shape, supported by a brass foot with adjustable legs at the base. First edition coffee tables, like this example, had a brass base, the chrome-plated leg only arriving in the mid-1970s in the Arflex catalogue. This coffee table was usually presented with Zanuso's "lady" and "senior" lounge chairs for Arflex, also with brass legs. This table has been completely restored, and the brass base, stamped in three separate places, has been repolished. A very rare table, in a superb state of preservation.
