About this vintage design furniture
This dining chair is very similar to the work of Oswald Haerdtl and Antonin Suman, but it is designed by Radomir Hofman as model number 514 for the TON Company. Hofman used the same principle for the backrest as the other two, but made his own expression by using a dynamic semicircle for the gap and by adding horizontal leg supports. Radomir Hofman is well known for designing the iconic chair no.165 but this model was definitely his most popular. The chair is in great vintage condition. The frame has been strengthened In a recent restoration and the original damaged fabric has been replaced by an identical new one. All the wooden parts have been hand finished by Shellac and Nitro varnishes in order to achieve a greater gloss finish.
