About this vintage design furniture
Art Deo umbrella stand A brass umbrella or half-moon stick, mounted on ball-shaped feet and made by Tonks & Sons. A marvellous object from the first quarter of the 20th century, with a hotel lobby atmosphere and strong art deco vibe. WT&S, W. Tonks & Sons of Birmingham, UK, where he manufactures architectural materials, metal art objects, country metal objects, metal church objects and one of the first manufacturers of patterned decorative tubes. William Tonks founded this company in the late 1700s. They won gold medals at exhibitions in 1851 and 1862 in London and in 1855 in Paris. Dimensions (cm) : 20 D x 67 H x 35 W Condition: Good condition for a second hand object. Presenting bags of character and natural patina.
