About this vintage design furniture

Beautiful and elegant mid-century brass candle chandelier with six Pierre Forsell candleholders for Skultuna - Sweden from the 1960s. The six candleholders have a brass back shield that gives a calm and relaxing light in your room when the candles are lit. They are suspended from a solid brass chain. Signed Skultuna 1607 and Pierre Forsells. Good original condition. Dimensions: 43cmH x 25cmD. Total length: 124cmH. Pierre Oskar Paul Forsell was born in 1925 in Stockholm and died in 2004. He was a Swedish designer, craftsman and goldsmith. Forsell worked for Gense in 1952-1964 where he designed the Piruett fork and the Spectra cutlery series (1961). He produced works for Skultuna from 1955 to 1986, such as the Pendel and Reflex wall lights. He also designed sacred brass artwork such as crosses and candlesticks for several churches.

About the designer

Pierre FORSELL

Pierre Forsell was a Swedish industrial designer born in 1925 and died in 2004. He studied at the Stockholm School of Arts and Crafts and began his career as a designer with Bobergs, a Swedish interior design company. In 1955, he joined the renowned Swedish design company Skultuna Messingsbruk AB as Art Director, where he worked for almost 25 years.
