About this vintage design furniture
"Scale" or "Toonladder" coat rack designed by Coen de Vries in 1953. In 1954, put into production by DEVO (Netherlands). A fine example of mid-century Dutch design. Designed for the good life. This special coat rack is made of black metal tubing, has a white metal tubing hat shelf, twelve original clothes hooks made of bent, color-plasticized electrical wire and five "fake hooks."

Coen DE VRIES
Coen de Vries was a Dutch industrial designer, born in 1918 and died in 2004. He studied at the Amsterdam School of Arts and Crafts and worked for various design companies, including Gispen, Spectrum and Pilastro.
