About this vintage design furniture

Rare set of two Lambda chairs, designed by Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper for Gavina in 1959. The Lambda chair can be considered the precursor of many plastic chairs that were later designed and produced. In fact, it too was designed to be produced in moulded plastic, but the technology available at the time prevented its realization. Gavina then turned to a technology, deep-drawn sheet metal, which was suitable for craft production but not for mass production. In fact, the Lambda chair was produced in small series between 1959 and 1964, when it ceased to be produced. It is now part of the permanent design collection of WOAgri in New York. The chairs have been completely restored and are in perfect condition.
