About this vintage design furniture

Rare set of table lamps "Mega Watt" designed in 1981 by Peter Ghyczy. Only about 50 pieces were manufactured, making a two-piece set extremely difficult to find. The lamps have a built-in dimmer and are made of hand-cast brass with a polished stainless steel cover. 51 x 33 x 33 cm German designer Peter Ghyczy was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1940. After graduating, Ghyczy worked on a large number of designs produced by furniture manufacturers and factories in Germany, including Vitra. Ghyczy's most successful design at that time was Reuter's Garden Egg Chair (1968), which remains one of his most recognizable designs today and one of the earliest known examples of a hinged chair. Conditions: excellent working condition with only slight signs of previous use.
