About this vintage design furniture
Rare hanging lamp, ceiling lamp from the 50s. The lamp is NOT marked. It is a variation of the design GRANADA for Peill and Putzler in Düren. The glass shade is organically shaped, made of thick glass with spiral-shaped strips melted into the glass. It hangs on a short aluminium rod. Original vintage object, which fits perfectly to modern and stylish interiors. Light source: E27 (the bulb is not included in the offer). The lamp is fully functional. Design: Aloys F. Gangkofner, Munich Manufacturer: Peill & Putzler, Düren (literature: Glass and Light, Prestel Verlag) 1950s Origin: Germany Material: glass & metal Condition: Good to very good. About the designer
Alois Ferdinand GANGKOFNER
Alois Ferdinand Gangkofner (1920-2003) was a German designer and master glassmaker. Born in Bavaria, Gangkofner studied at the Zwiesel glass school and then worked as an assistant in several glass studios in Germany. In 1949, he became artistic director of the glass company Peill & Putzler in Düren, where he created many modern and innovative glass pieces.
