About this vintage design furniture

Sofa in Faux Leather by Geoffrey Harcourt, 1963 for Artifort. The sofa or bench has a frame of heavy, flat bar steel which supports the brown cognac coloured faux leather upholstered seats. Harcourt designed these Mid-Century Modern items in 1963. The sofa is in very good condition, minimum patina on the upholstery, and traces of use on the metal frames as shown on photos. Two years after production the 042 design was noticed (and used) by the architect of the new Lima Airport in Peru. After opening in 1965, Lima Airport was considered in its time as one of the most modern airports in Latin America, primarily due to the highly advanced and award-winning architecture of the passenger terminal. The 042 design successfully opened new doors for Artifort: to furnish and decorate the airports at Schiphol-Amsterdam, Lagos and Newark USA as well. Additional dimensions information: Seat height: H 38 cm
